A plant of the southeastern United States that thrives in tough NYC urban conditions. Great tree pit plant! Yucca filamentosa looks like it would be at home in the desert, with its stiff, straplike foliage and very striking, tall flower spike. White nodding flowers appear in the early summer. It may take a year or two to begin flowering.
