Lowlands Nursery

Open Hours & Online Orders

After Labor Day through Halloween, we will be open 10 AM-4 PM Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Due to a heat advisory for NYC, we will be closed Thursday September 7th.

We will also be closed:
September 2-3
October 7-8

Starting November, hours will return to 10 AM-2 PM Thursday and Saturdays. Last plant sale of the year is November 18th.

The Lowlands Nursery is subject to closure due to unpredictable and inclement weather, holidays, and unforeseen events. We will try our best to send out updates via social media whenever possible.

***Please refer to above dates for closures, Google Hours may not always be accurate:***

We are located at: 25 9th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215, right next to the F/G train Smith-9th Street station and the 9th Street Bridge. We do not have parking on our site so please plan accordingly.

We highly encourage people to shop in-person. If that is not an option, online orders can be picked up during open hours. Please select the date you would like to pick up at checkout and your plant order will be set aside for you when you arrive.

We are currently out of compost. For compost inquiries, please contact Big Reuse.

We recycle pots! To return your pots please bring them the next time you pick up plants or email us to coordinate at plants[at]gowanuscanalconservancy[dot]org.

We offer discounts for Schools, Community Gardens, Block Associations and GCC Members!

Schools, community gardens, and block associations can apply to receive a 35% discount for plantings in school/community gardens or the public realm. To receive this discount, we ask that you upload documentation of your affiliation using the application link (documentation could be a photograph of the school/community garden, public garden, or tree pit to be planted; a membership card; a school letter, etc).

If you are a school interested in applying for the Community discount as a school, please note this is mainly for private and public grade schools looking to buy plants for either their own school gardens or for projects in the public realm. If you are a university, this discount only applies for gardens or green spaces accessible to the public.

GCC Members receive a 15% discount and do not need to fill out a separate application. If you are a member and have not received a discount code, please forward your membership receipt to plants[at]gowanuscanalconservancy[dot]org. Not a member yet? Become a member today!
