Filipendula rubra - Queen of the Prairie

Filipendula rubra is a perennial wildflower native to the Eastern US and a member of the Rosacae family. This plant typically grows between 6-8 ft tall and 3-4 ft wide. The vibrant clusters of pink flowers bloom from June through August, attracting pollinators. The saturation of the flowers' pink hue often deepens with maturity, making it more vibrant as time passes. It prefers a combination of medium to wet soils, and full sun or partial shade.
