Carex appalachica - Appalachian Sedge

A weeping, perennial sedge with particularly fine foliage, Grows well in warm, dry shade. Carex appalachica makes a great low-maintenance lawn substitute as it will grow under many conditions, as long as it is planted in dry to average soil.

Pest resistant and unpalatable to deer and other herbivores.

Plants should be cut to the ground in late winter.
