Rudbeckia fulgida, commonly known as orange coneflower, produces an orange daisy-like bloom with a black seed head attractive to bees, butterflies, and birds. The flowers typically grow 2 to 3 feet tall and will bloom in the mid to late summer. The flowers themselves last for roughly two weeks and deadheading the blossoms can extend the bloom period. Rudbeckia fulgida is adaptable to many soil types, but prefers full or partial sun and can survive especially hot or humid periods of summer.
