Flowers attract a wide variety of native pollinators, butterflies, and moths. 

When in bloom, loose clusters of light blue bell-shaped flowers form. Grows well in moist, well-drained soils. Will self-seed in optimum growing environment. 

Dried rhizomes were historically used to treat skin conditions, coughs, bronchitis, and insect or snake bites.
