Coreopsis lanceolata - Lanceleaf coreopsis

This wonderful herbaceous perennial produces vibrant yellow flowers with toothed-tipped petals, shaped similarly to daisies. it has a long summer bloom. Its basal leaves are evergreen. When ready, it will self-seed. To extend bloom period and prevent unwanted seeds, deadheading is recommended. 

Coreopsis lanceolata pairs well with Asclepias tuberosa, Baptisia australis, Sporobolus heterolepsis, and Schizachyrium scoparium.
