Attractive foliage and flower panicles provide color and contrast to the rock garden, perennial border and native plant garden.

Heuchera americana, commonly called coral bells, has heart-shaped leaves tinged with purplish-brown that mature to a uniform green with bright green veins.  It has small greenish-white, bell-shaped flowers around 18" in height that appear in late spring to early summer.   It's a good edging plant and is effective in mass planting.

"'Dale's Strain' has unique silver-blue marbled foliage that grows in handsome mounds. It is an excellent drought tolerant ground cover for shady areas. Long wands of white flowers attract native bees and hummingbirds when they bloom in spring." American Beauties, Native Plants
