Lowlands Nursery

Open Hours & Online Orders

We will reopen on Thursdays and Saturdays from 11:00AM-4:00PM starting April 3rd. Online inventory will be updated the first week of plant sales. Due to natural dormancy of native plants during Winter, inventory will be noticeably less on our online store, so we highly suggest in-person shopping.

Want to continue supporting us until we re-open? Consider purchasing a gift card for friends and loved ones!

The Lowlands Nursery is subject to closure due to unpredictable and inclement weather, holidays, and unforeseen events. We will try our best to send out updates via social media whenever possible.

We are located at: 25 9th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215, right next to the F/G train Smith-9th Street station and the 9th Street Bridge. We do not have parking on our site so please plan accordingly.

We highly encourage people to shop in-person. If that is not an option, online orders can be picked up during open hours.

Compost

We will not be distributing compost this year due to budget cuts for composting. Thank you for understanding.

Pots + Bags

We recycle pots! To return your pots please bring them the next time you pick up plants or email us to coordinate at plants[at]gowanuscanalconservancy[dot]org. In addition, we now accept clean reusable bags such as Fresh Direct, Target, and other branded bags.

Discounts

We offer discounts for Schools, Community Gardens, Block Associations and GCC Members!

Schools, community gardens, and block associations can apply to receive a 25% discount for plantings in school/community gardens or the public realm. To receive this discount, we ask that you upload documentation of your affiliation using the application link (documentation could be a photograph of the school/community garden, public garden, or tree pit to be planted; a membership card; a school letter, etc).

If you are a school interested in applying for the Community discount as a school, please note this is mainly for private and public grade schools looking to buy plants for either their own school gardens or for projects in the public realm. If you are a university, this discount only applies for gardens or green spaces accessible to the public.

GCC Members receive a 15% discount and do not need to fill out a separate application. If you are a member and have not received a discount code, please forward your membership receipt to plants[at]gowanuscanalconservancy[dot]org. Not a member yet? Become a member today!
